Outsourcing First Notice Of Loss - FNOL Call Overflow To Optimize Call Center Effectiveness

Many healthcare and insurance related companies have experienced high ASA times (Average Speed of Answer) and problematic Call Handling Times (CHT). Others have experienced challenges with ABN (Average Time to Abandonment) and ATB (All Trunks Busy). A company's call center is the often the first contact, the critical initial claims intake responsible for customers when problems or losses occur. As with most call centers, there are times when in-house occupancy rates are at 90% - and no one is available to answer the phone.

A company call center could certainly return the call an hour later or the next day, but that may be too late, as the customer may have already contacted an attorney or progressed down a more problematic or costly path than necessary. For claims related issues, industry experts agree that a cycle time delays can increase the cost of your claims dramatically and will simultaneously reduce the effectiveness and level of customer service provided by your organization. This is why many of today's contact centers employ outsourced call centers for overflow, nights and weekends. The around the clock claims professional staffing with overflow capacity offers improved call center responsiveness and enhances the overall customer experience.

By leveraging a contact center for overflow, nights, weekends and holidays, companies can improve organizational by as much as 40% while enhancing the customer experience. All of these things can positively impact the bottom line of many if not most organizations. Today, many high quality call centers outsource FNOL (First Notice of Loss) for overflow and non-peak times, while some outsource their entire operation. JD Power and Associates has stated that insurers with longer than average cycle times of 14.8 days are rated in the bottom 50% in terms of customer satisfaction.

At 80% or greater call center occupancy in-house staff is extremely busy, turnover often increases due to burnout, customer service is adversely impacted and many calls go unanswered. At 50% occupancy staff has flexibility with down time, customer service levels are often very good, and most calls are answered. At 20% occupancy, essentially every call is answered, ASA times are short, customer service is superb; however efficiency is low and the cost per claim is astronomical. Finding the right balance with outsourced first notice of loss (FNOL) solutions can allow call centers to improve efficiency and reach optimum effectiveness.

Infant and Baby Helmets for Remolding Purposes - Cranial Molding Helmet - Flattened Head Syndrome

Cranial Molding Helmets

1.) Your Baby's Head

If you have seen that your child is developing a persistent flat spot on the back or side of their head, it could be that they are developing what is called positional plagiocephaly. This is also referred to as "flattened head syndrome" by some individuals. This can happen when your baby sleeps in the same position, for example. Due to the soft nature of their skull, the shape of your baby's head can take on an abnormal shape if left untreated.

2.) Cranial Molding Helmets

Special helmets are used and are provided by individuals known as licensed "orthotists". These individuals can help your child achieve the results that they deserve. In essence, what happens is that your child will wear this special helmet and what happens is their head will be allowed to grow where there is an opening allowed. Their head will be held at the site where growth is currently normal. In this fashion then, the child will move toward a more "normal' shape as time goes on.

Typically, what will be needed is that your child goes in for periodic check ups with your local orthotist. At this point the brace provider will be able to see where growth is taking place and allow more room in the helmet for growth where it is needed. Keeping up with your appointments is crucial when using a cranial molding helmet.

3.) Reasons Why You Need To Get This From an Orthotist

It is important to see a specialist in the bracing field for these helmets. Cranial molding helmets are considered to be "orthoses" and it is best to work with a licensed professional in the field. Other medical professionals may claim to provide this service to your child, but this is the time for you to be very critical of who is handling your baby's head. The window for improvement of your baby's head is limited and getting the job done right requires experience.

4.) Insurance & Cost of A Cranial Molding Helmet

The cost of the helmet may be totally covered by your insurance. How great is that!? This is not always the case and it basically comes down to the terms that are part of your health insurance plan. Many times, if the helmet is not covered at 100 %, then the majority of the helmet could be covered. When you go into see your local orthotist for your baby's first appointment bring your insurance care, ID and prescription with you.

Note: This is health information. This article is not meant to diagnose your child with plagiocephaly or claim that they absolutely need a helmet. Speak with your local licensed orthotist to get medical advice regarding the use of these helmets.

Mutual of Omaha Medicare Supplement - The Provider of Your Choice

If you have been researching your options for Medicare, you are going to discover that the answers are not as simple as you might have hoped. On the contrary, you will learn that even though the government is providing you with a service, you will still have to make some choices.

Here is why. Original Medicare, the service program provided by the government, is not setup to cover all healthcare costs. You will find that some costs, such as deductibles and co-pays, are not covered by the program. This would leave many seniors in financial trouble. That's why there are Medicare supplemental insurance plans to fill the gap. These plans are often referred to as Medigap programs. If you are ready to start discovering the different Medigap programs, there are some things you will want to be aware of.

To begin with, there are certain Medigap plans that all insurance providers must provide. If you would like to work with a certain provider, such as Mutual of Omaha, because you have used them before and you think that they are affordable and accessible, then you may do so, but keep in mind that they will not offer your different coverage. In other words, the Mutual of Omaha Medicare supplement will look exactly like the Humana Medicare supplement. You will see the same plans, A through N, and you will find that the coverage offered in each plan is exactly the same.

You may be wondering now what difference it makes whether you go with Mutual of Omaha or Humana or Blue Cross. This is really a matter of preference. There are still a number of factors that will end up lowering or raising your premiums. You should also keep in mind that there are some factors related to the state you live in, preexisting conditions, and general health that can make your premium higher in one provider's eyes and lower in another. It all depends.

Most importantly, make sure that you feel comfortable with the insurance carrier. If you have used Mutual of Omaha for years and years and you would like to continue to use their services because they are affordable and accessible, then you should certainly use this company. The only things you will want to look out for are companies that will tell you that their supplement plans cover more than other plans. Remember that plans are federally regulated, so they will all have the same coverage.

Bouncy Castles Renting

Bouncy castles are usually the highlight for all guests at any kids' party. However, for several reasons, it's not so great for the parent who has to organize its hiring. Just locating a suitable company can be tough as - unlike with most businesses these days - you can't just log on to your home computer and expect to find hundreds of online reviews letting you know which firm is reliable and which to steer clear of.

But it's still much simpler to track down bouncy castles than you might think, with a search through your local directory - normally the Yellow Pages - providing information. You can also utilize an online directory, such as Yellow Pages' website, or search Google for results in your area. Try keying in, for example, 'bouncy castle hire New York' if, of course, you live in the Big Apple. See, your computer is not completely useless in this case!

OK, so there aren't many reviews, but online forums can still supply indispensable information regarding trustworthy hire companies. You're again best to use a search engine to locate these forums, although be aware that some comments could be generated by the firm itself looking to gain positive publicity. Still, the vast majority of feedback will be authentic, so take note of any standout firms.

Right, after your bouncy castles research, you should have a list of potential firms to rent from. With a good idea of how many children will be attending your party, make sure you call every company to get details on the cost and service. It's likely some companies will only have one type of bouncy castle to rent, while others will possess various types and sizes. You may be asked to place a deposit, but that is quite common, so don't be shocked or apprehensive.

Of course, even with all this online research and trawling of local directories, the best way to track down a quality rental company is through word of mouth. Surely you have friends that have held kids' birthday parties before? If so, chat to them. They'll be able to furnish you with totally honest reviews.

With a hire company found, you might think your work is done. But, no, you still have to purchase insurance when renting bouncy castles. You'll need accidental damage insurance because it's possible that the castle will receive a good amount of abuse from enthusiastic kids. Most castles are robust, but they are just big air-filled pieces of PVC or vinyl and nylon, so they can - and do - burst. It is likely keys in someone's pocket will be responsible for any puncture and deflation.

You will also require liability insurance. Talk to the rental company as you'll need this type of insurance to protect anyone who is injured while using one of their bouncy castles.

Ultimately, before renting bouncy castles, remember to recognize who is accountable for any type of damage. If you abide by the suggestions set out above, your kids' party will be a success.

Heath Care Coverage For Abortion

Among the most cumbersome hindrances in the argument of making health insurance more affordable & accessible is a huge plain question that will drive people to think. - What consequence will the health care reform law have on the prevalence of abortion? The latest incident in Massachusetts hints that coverage by universal health care is related to the lessening of the incidence of abortion.

The present legislation limits federal funding for abortion to cases of incest, rape or when the existence of the mother is in danger. The Hyde Amendment, a clause for appropriating the budget, governs all these, which is being sanctioned by the congress every year since 1976.

Beneath the resistance to government subsidy of insurance that jackets abortion is the principle that these funding will take away monetary deterrents for women to engage in abortions, thereby, increasing the rate of abortion in the US.

The newly enacted health care reform law was modeled after the reform legislation in Massachusetts. Both laws don't have the public option that was added to the House bill, which was the focal point of the amendment made by Stupak & Pitts that bars government subsidies for insurance that covers abortion. It makes sense to study the Massachusetts experience if insurance coverage really increases the incidence of abortion.

Since the year 2000, the incidence of abortion in Massachusetts has lessened by twelve percent & about thirty-six percent since the year 1991. That means the rate of abortion in Massachusetts has went down by one third, with the majority of the decrease happening in the late 1990s. The noteworthy decline in the rate of abortion around the 1990s diminished amid 2000 & 2008. The downhill trend went on for the duration of the 2 yrs when the law was put into practice. These data indicates that the abortion rate reached a new low since the 70s. There seems to be a disagreement if this decrease was really due to the implementation of the law or due to the fact that the male partner was employed, which translates into financial resources that afford the couple the capability to raise children, thus, abortion is not an option anymore.

The state of Massachusetts is part of seventeen states that give total coverage for abortion subject to the Medicaid program for those in the poverty level. Abortion is also included in the Commonwealth Care plans which are for the next level of income generators. In spite of this, there was no increase in the incidence of abortion. Therefore, it is safe to conclude that covering abortion in health care plans do not increase the abortion rate.

Guide To Choosing a 401k Plan Provider

Most employers hire a plan provider to manage their 401k employee retirement plan, even though it is possible to administer the plan for oneself. Employers have a number of different options to choose from when selecting a plan provider.

It is essential to make the right choice, so employers need to find out as much as they can about plan providers before they commit to using a particular service. Ideally, the chosen plan provider should have experience handling 401k retirement plans and they should be able to offer a suitable range of good investment options.

The easiest way to set up and manage a 401k employee retirement plan is to work with a bundled provider, also known as a full service provider. These types of providers, which include mutual funds, banks, insurance firms and third party administrators, offer the whole range of services that are required. The employer only has to deal with one service provider, which makes organizing their 401k plan much easier. The simplicity of working with a bundled provider is particularly advantageous for small businesses. The disadvantage of choosing a full service provider is that flexibility will be reduced.

Choosing an unbundled provider is another option, but it does mean that organizing the 401k is more complicated because it is necessary to work with multiple services. Usually, a provider will be hired to manage the 401k and the investments, while an HR professional will be chosen to perform the administration. This will enable the employer to enjoy more flexibility, but it will also raise the costs.

Mutual fund companies, despite the fact that their investment options are limited to only their own funds, are the most popular provider of 401k plans. This is partly due to the fact that their services are aimed at small to medium businesses while banks tend to target bigger employers. However, the fact that working with a well-known firm can help encourage participation in the plan among the employees also contribute to the popularity of mutual funds as 401k plan providers.

Insurance firms can offer a better service to employers who are looking to set up a more complex 401k plan. Insurers can also present a wider range of investments than they were traditionally able to offer. An insurance company can be an expensive choice of provider, however.

Small employers may benefit from working with a third party administrator. These providers tend to be smaller, so they are more willing to spend time working with a small business, while mutual funds and banks prefer to focus on their larger clients. Third party administrators also provide employers with an excellent range of investments.

When a BlackBerry Storm or the new BlackBerry Torch or other cellphone model screens break, it often effects what is known as the touch screen digitizer. Although it may seem like a confusing cell phone part, the job it has is fairly simple. It is the part that allows the pressure and placement of a finger or stylus to dictate what function the cell phone will complete. In most cases, touch screen digitizer repair for your BlackBerry is more affordable through a third-party.

Finally, you can go directly to a company that specializes in BlackBerry touchscreen repair. Most of these companies are not located locally but they can be found online. Get a Personal Injury Attorney to Prove Your Car Accident Case

In order to recover your damages caused by a car accident, you have to prove that the other driver or drivers involved in the accident were at fault. Fault means that the other driver did something that a normal driver would not have done. For example the other driver made a run with the stop sign while speeding or violating some of the other rules of the road.

If you are able to prove that the other driver was at fault or negligent, then you must prove that the fault or negligence caused your damages. The damages available at a car accident case are the damages to your vehicle and personal property. These damages will include the repair costs of your vehicle, medical bills, and rental expenses; if the car can still be repaired. If the car cannot be repaired anymore, it will be considered as a total loss.

In case of a total loss, you are entitled to the whole value of your vehicle before it was damaged and sales stats. You will also be entitled to medical expenses at some point in your case. Most of the time, the insurance company of the other driver will pay for your expenses as they are required. They may tell you to send the bills through the insurance company but make no mistake about it because it is pretty rare for an insurance company to actually pay those bills as you send it to them.

The same thing applies to your lost wages. The insurance company of the other driver has the obligation to pay your lost wages as they occur. Your lost wages will include wages you have lost in the past and if you're permanently injured, it will affect your ability to work in the future. This will call for a loss of earning capacity. You are also entitled for compensations in relation to pain and suffering which you could experience in an accident and lead to the loss of the quality of your life encompassing physical and emotional anguish.

In a car accident, it would be best to have a good lawyer by your side to handle your case. These cases could be too complicated for you and a lawyer will help you get through all the facts and legal jargon. Choose an experienced lawyer in your type of case to get the best results.

To keep from breaking the rules so you can keep your home, the following things must be done. You are required to pay your insurance and taxes. If you are one of the few that opted to have taxes and insurance money set aside in an impound account, be aware that it only lasts for a specified number of years. After that, you will need to pay the taxes and homeowner's insurance on your own.

If you live in Oregon, you may be able to defer your property taxes. You will want to do it after you get your reverse mortgage, or you will have to reapply after it is closed. But this is a way you can restrict some of the cash flow that has been leaving your household. Be aware that it will have to be paid someday, like when you get a new loan or if your transfer the title of your home.

Additionally, items like flood, fire, hurricane and earthquake insurance are still your responsibility to pay. Your reverse mortgage does not include these payments, so you will need to continue making them. This includes any condo or association dues associated with the property or anything else your area may have that is property related.

Since most people's largest expense is the monthly payments on their mortgage, the great news is that these payments are going away. You will see a big difference in your monthly out go, effectively making your other expenses more affordable. If you don't have a mortgage, your monthly out go won't change, but you will have access to reserve funds that will help you with other monthly expenses.

Finally, your responsibility is to use the home as your primary residence. This is defined as living in the home at least six months of each year. As long as your intention is to owner occupy the property, you will not need to be concerned with tracking the amount of days you are staying there. This is just in place so loans aren't done on second homes or rentals.

As you can see, a great way to reduce your monthly expenses and potentially increase income is by doing a reverse mortgage. It doesn't remove the other obligations that are attached to your properties, and as long as you pay them, you will have a place to live for as long as you choose to live there.

Choosing the Right Commercial or Industrial Painting Contractor

Amongst the many maintenance projects that a commercial or industrial business requires, painting is one that has some of the most visible effects and can dramatically transform your business' look or feel. However, the process of selecting the proper contractor to complete your painting project can be a tiresome process. There are a number of factors one should consider, including years of experience, insurance/liability, and their previous jobs completed. While commercial or industrial painting may seem like an easy project that many contractors can complete, keep in mind that your building's paint is the first impression many customers or business partners will see when entering your establishment. Because of this, choosing the right painting contractor becomes greatly important.

Quite possibly the most significant factor in choosing the proper commercial or industrial painting company is their previous experience working with local businesses. Residential and commercial painting are different in terms of the type of paint selected, the proper techniques to use, and more. It is imperative, then, that you choose a painting contractor with plenty of experience behind them in dealing with similar businesses in the area.

Obtaining commercial insurance is, in many ways, vastly different than obtaining residential insurance. Thus, it is important to ensure that the painting company you choose has the prober credentials so that you are safeguarded. A fully bonded and insured commercial or industrial painting contractor is much more likely to finish your project with quality results and, likely, has the proper experience to handle your large-scale project. Similarly, it is an absolute must that the painting contractor you select is licensed.

Other factors to keep in mind is the painting company's general business procedures, including their willingness to commit to signed agreements, their reputation for timely completion, and whether they have the backing of painting manufactures. A highly regarded commercial or industrial painting contractor would have a professional reputation and could easily list their suppliers backing.

Every business owner will experience the need to upgrade either their interior or exterior paint. When it comes to choosing the right commercial or industrial painting contractor, however, one cannot be too discerning. It is important to express the right image for your company and, consequently, it is important to have a professional looking paint job completed by a professional commercial or industrial painting contractor.

Safety Measures While Using A Firepit

Fire pits are charming in nature and are heartwarming. The growing popularity of firepits has had many people wanting to add one to their garden or backyard. It is joyful to sit around one with friends and loved ones to share some memorable fun. Every fire pit is designed with having safety in mind, but still some preventive measures have to be taken to prevent a fire accident and stay safer. Not only it is essential to have the safety of the people around it, but safety of the property and house is also important while using your outdoor pit.

Here are some useful tips that help to prevent damage to properties as well as loved ones.

Check local rules for open fire in residential areas

Every local administration indicates where, or if at all, fires can be burned in residential areas. These laws and codes are specially formed to prevent accidents to home, personal property and to persons. Generally open fire must be lit up at a distance of 25 feet from buildings and any structures. Complete information will be provided by the local fire department air administration.

Insurance for property and home

Most insurance companies provide insurance for fire accident and for personal property. Firepit accidents can take place at any time accidentally, a spark can jump out of the basin and can spread to the nearby area and can cause heavy loss to the properties and other materials. But by having insurance every owners need not suffer from unexpected loss of money. Also every fire pit owner must handle it carefully to prevent unwanted accidents.

Have a safety plan for outdoors

Everyone who uses the outdoor fire pit must be well aware of ways to put out the fire. It is also essential to use an extinguisher and know the ways to douse a fire using an extinguisher. Spend some time in your backyard and find out any possibilities of fire danger. Place the deck furniture firmly to the ground which helps to prevent tipping of furniture accidentally.

Place your fire pit on a non-flammable surface

Place the outdoor pit over non-flammable surface like steel, stone or masonry. If you happen to place it over a wood or some other surface, then a fire accident could happen accidentally when sparks come in contact with the wood. You can use a deck protect pad to avoid this and still be able to burn your fire pit on a wood deck. Also place it at a distant place away from property or any structures.

Remove low hanging branches near the pit, a gust of wind can easily spread the fire through branches and could ignite a fire accident. You can stay safer while using your fire pit by following these simple tips.

How To Survive a Recession - The Income Equation Tells All

We have all read articles on how to build a chiropractic practice, including "silver bullet" ideas on how to build your practice. All of these tactics help increase a practice's gross collections (the first part of the income equation, gross collections - expenses = income) and are of great interest and value.

But let's look at the second and equally important component of the income equation - expenses. The principle couldn't be easier: Lowering your expenses elevates your income. However, controlling expenses is one aspect of running an office that eludes many chiropractors.

EVERY DOLLAR YOU SAVE IN EXPENSE IS A DOLLAR ADDED TO YOUR INCOME

• Office supplies. Make a list of the most commonly used consumables: paper, toner, printer cartridges, file folders, paper towels, etc. Make a grid with at least three or four suppliers across the top and your supply list at the left. Fill in the grid with each supplier's prices. You will then have a clear picture of which supplier is most competitive.

• Phone service. Telephone companies seem to prey on customers who do not analyze their bills. I have found hundreds of mistakes in my phone bills over the years and, not surprisingly, they are never in my favor.

• Insurance. Not all insurance companies are equal. Do not evaluate insurance by premium alone. When it comes to business liability, malpractice, or disability insurance, the financial strength of the company and what they actually cover should be more valued than lower premiums.

• Banking. Banks charge a variety of fees. Some are obvious, some hidden. Some banks charge fees based on the number of deposits or number of checks written per month. In this case, it is worthwhile to put forth the effort and calculate how many deposits you make and checks you write in an average month. In addition, every bank fee is negotiable and banks are very eager for your business. Negotiate with the branch manager and do not be afraid to play "hard ball" in threatening to leave. They need your business and are being pressured to do "whatever it takes" in many instances to maintain that relationship.

• Credit cards. Evaluate them the same as you evaluate banks. The two most important variables in credit cards are annual fee and interest rate. Be on the lookout for hidden fees here, too. Good rules of thumb when using credit is, if you can't afford to pay for it now, don't buy it.

EFFICIENT OPERATIONS

• Marketing. To evaluate a marketing program or event, apply the income equation. The question to ask is, "What will be my return on investment?" Always use past performance to predict future results.

For example: If a promotion costs $5,000 and you usually convert 50 percent of all new patients to long-term wellness care and each new patient yields $2,000 per year, your breakeven is five new patients.

Note: your goal is not five new patients. Your goal has to achieve two or three times your investment, or 10 to 15 new patients so any return on investment greater than 10 is considered a big winner.

The ability to analyze an expense or to project the feasibility of a marketing promotion accurately requires analysis and research. Do not be afraid to reach out to an expert in this arena and be careful of the colleague who spins great stories. Many in the profession are quite inflammatory in their successes in trying to impress you or get you to joint hem to defray their costs at your expense. Always strive for making a profit not breaking even.

• Staff. Staff is typically your largest expense, and unfortunately, its profitability is the most difficult to calculate. Yet, staff does add to profitability, because they directly affect patient retention, billings and collections.

I urge my colleagues to continue to improve themselves and their practices, not only with technical skills, clinical skills and practice expansion, but also with solid business acumen. In an environment in which the healthcare dollar is increasingly more difficult to put into the net income column, chiropractors must analyze their expense items in the income equation. If you watch your pennies, the dollars will take care of themselves.

In this series of consultations, I will be sharing in depth, on the "how to win in practice" with associate doctors and staff. The topics will cover hiring the right person, clarifying job descriptions so as not have false expectations that can destroy those relationship s and ensuring you have everything defined on paper to punctuate that clarity in expectations.

Ten Ways to Get a Good Deal When Buying a New Car

When you have to buy a new car, you can actually save a lot of money if you get a good deal.

Perhaps you want to buy a new car because the old one has done its work. Perhaps you want to go in for a new model. Perhaps you just want to splurge on something bigger and better. Perhaps you need a new car because you have given your old one to your spouse/kids. Or perhaps you have come into some extra money and want to buy your dream car.

But before you spend your money, do some research, so that you can get a good deal. Remember, money saved is money earned. And why should your money go into someone else's pocket anyway?

What to look for so you can get a good deal?

1. Zero in on the car you want. You may want a family car, a convertible, a hybrid an all electric or a luxury car.

2. Figure out whether you want boot space, what kind of mileage the car gives, how much driving you actually do, etc.

3. Decide the features and the add-ons you want in the car. Have a few choices so that you don't get stuck on just one model - there are many similar kinds of cars in the market.

4. Have a price point in mind before you go car shopping. That should be reasonable keeping the above features in mind. And try not to go over budget.

5. Do your research as to who will give you a good price. A dealer, the company showroom or the car buying websites on the internet? You can get a lot of information on the internet from car buying sites and it is worth it to let your mouse to the walking, before you actually go out to check out the car.

6. Don't be shy to ask for a discount. In fact, if you go to a dealer, you should visit a few to establish a baseline price and then bargain and go for the best deal.

7. Decide whether you want to pay the full price upfront, pay EMIs or get a bank loan. Work out the costs. Of course, if you don't have all the money upfront, you don't have a choice, but you can cut costs on interest rates.

8. Buy at a time when the market is down - that is the time you will get the maximum discount. The end of the year is usually a good time because people have expenses on Christmas and holidays and are unwilling to add to their expenses by getting a car. Another time is when new cars are coming and dealers have to get rid of their inventory.

9. Budget for add ons like insurance - remember that your car insurance premium may go up with the new vehicle.

10. Check out bargains - often car dealers or even manufactures offer bargains or give add one for free or pay for insurance, and the like. Deals will usually be advertised in the newspapers.

Get your new car home

It is extremely important that you put all your research in place, before you fork out the money, even when getting a car on finance options. When you get your new car home, you don't want to have any regrets. Also make sure that all your paperwork, insurance and the like are in order before you start driving.

Fixed Annuities - Your Secure Options for Your Retirement Years

Many people would rather aim for financial security rather than profits when it comes to planning and saving up for their retirement. That is totally reasonable, given that our work options become more limited when we reach retirement age, yet our expenditures remain the same, if not more. We need a solid plan we can rely upon as we enter our golden years, and many people find that safe solidity in buying fixed annuities.

What are fixed annuities? Fixed annuities are basically a type of annuity that you buy in exchange for a set amount of payments every single pay period. Just how much you will get depends on the factors prevailing the moment you sign your contract. Even if inflation fluctuates or even if the market rates have moved greatly in the years while you have your annuity, the amount you will be paid will remain the same.

Your Security Depends on Where You Bought Your Annuity

That is also the biggest factor why fixed annuities are secure. No matter what happens in the market and even if the value of your investment drops, you will still be paid the same amount every pay period. You don't have to worry about losing money because the economy is bad. As long as the insurance company from which you bought your annuity is financially stable, you will have your money coming to you for the entire duration of the annuity.

Thus, it is important for you to be absolutely picky when it comes to choosing which insurance company from which to buy your annuity. The best way to judge the stability of an insurance company is by looking at its ratings with rating agencies like AM Best and Moody's. The higher their rating is, the less risk you will be taking when you get an annuity from them.

The insurance brokers you may approach regarding this may try to sway you into buying an annuity that has a higher interest rate from a company with lower ratings. Whatever you do, don't allow yourself to be coaxed into taking that decision. The risk is too high and you may end up losing your life savings, thus losing the security you worked for to enjoy on your retirement.

We all want to enjoy some measure of financial stability when we reach our retirement age. Buying fixed annuities is one option that can give us that stability we seek. However, we must be careful in purchasing our annuities in order to avoid any unnecessary risks.

What to Do After a Car Accident - A Checklist Guide

If you've been involved in a car accident, checklists are an essential way to make sure you haven't missed anything important after you leave the scene of the accident. Most likely, your mind will be racing with thoughts. Is everyone okay? Was the accident my fault? What should I do next?

This car accident checklist is designed to help you gather critical data if you get into an automobile accident.

1. Check to see if you or any passengers with you were injured in the automobile accident.

Do not hesitate to call 911-emergency help if you or anyone in any vehicle needs medical attention. Do not try to move anyone who may be unconscious whether in your party or in another vehicle, unless absolutely necessary. Often times, moving a person after a serious personal injury has occurred can aggravate or worsen an injury. If you must move injured people due to an emergency situation, make sure to keep their head and neck supported and ask for help from other nearby parties if you need it to ensure the person's body remains as stable as possible.

2. Safely get out of the way of traffic.

Get yourself to a safe area, such as a sidewalk or parking lot, but remain at the scene of the car accident. If your car is badly damaged and won't turn on, open your hood and put your flashers on to warn other drivers who may be approaching the area. Your safety is most important.

3. Call the police if the auto accident involves damage, injury or death.

Be sure to dial 911-emergency response if the auto accident involves any damage, personal injury, or death, especially in instances of hit-and-run driving. The 911-operator will initiate appropriate assistance such as ambulance, police, or CHP to the scene of the car accident.

4. Obtain information from the all other drivers and witnesses involved in the car accident.

You will need to gather the following information from all drivers, passengers, and witnesses of the accident: Name, Address, City, Home Number, Mobile Number, and Work Number.

It's helpful if you can gather the other person's Email, Insurance Company, Policy Number, Coverage Limits (liability).

5. Obtain police officer's information.

Don't forget to get the police officer's Name, Badge, Number, and City.

6. Write down the car accident information.

Jot down Date, Time, Make, Model, Year, Car Description, Color, State, and the other car's License Plate Number.

7. Take as many pictures as you can of the car accident. Be sure to remain safe in doing so.

When taking pictures, keep these tips handy. Be sure to photograph:

· Each car driver
· Each automobile in the car accident
· Any property damage including skid marks
· Any other damage to property (including vehicles), as well as the location of the automobile accident.

You can never take too many photos of a car accident. It is a good idea to keep a disposable camera in your glove compartment or trunk of your vehicle in case of emergency. If there are no other cameras available, then you should use a cell phone camera if you have one. Make an extra effort to get photos. It's a benefit to have an abundance of pictures since they may help in the insurance company claims process to determine how much you should be paid for your injuries.

8. Schedule an appointment with your doctor.

Many times, initial injuries are spotted right after the accident takes place. However, many people may suffer from personal injury but not have realized it immediately following an automobile accident. Therefore, it is always wise to see your doctor to make sure that you are okay.

As to seeing a doctor, often people are offered an ambulance ride, which they turn down. Often, people strike their head, are confused, and really not in a position to say "yes" or "no" to the ambulance ride. Or, one may have a passenger, especially a child in the car, and not think about themselves. If an ambulance ride is offered, and if you're unsure as to whether or not you're injured, you may want to take the ambulance ride to be on the safe side.

9. Before speaking to the insurance company, make sure to consult an experienced auto accident attorney.

More often than not, the insurance companies will try to settle with you for less than you deserve. This is true especially when injuries are involved.

10. Create an auto accident diagram.

Before your memory get fuzzy, jot down a visual aid of how the auto accident happened. This will help you describe your car accident later.

Chiropractic Care and Accident Treatment Recommendations

What to do after an accident in Panama City FL (Chiropractic or Medical)

Accidents happen. But finding the right doctor and treatment should not be an accident. After an accident you are faced with many challenges not the least of which is how to find the right doctor to fix your problems.

Commonly people first seek care at the local emergency room most commonly Bay Medical or Gulf Coast Hospitals and if the injuries sustained are significant then this is where the person should indeed go. People should remember these emergency rooms are designed to evaluate how serious your problem is and determine if the injuries that you have sustained are life threatening. Emergency rooms are not designed to render treatment for non life threatening conditions such as are commonly seen after an accident. If your condition is not an emergency then most often the ER will give you some short term medications and release you with instructions to follow up with another doctor if you continue to have problems. Many times soft tissue injuries such as torn ligaments, sprains and strains as well as concussions are underestimated by the patient. Left untreated and unchecked these injuries can lead to permanent damage and lifetime consequences.

At this point, patients can become confused about their treatment and get lost in the shuffle of what to do. They are constantly besieged by advertisements by lawyers telling them to come and see them and OPEN a claim and are then being called by insurance carriers trying to get them to CLOSE the claim ( sometimes for a few pennies). The question that needs to be answered BEFORE you make a decision is "AM I INJURED" and is the treatment of these injuries going to be short or long or permanent? Your insurance person cannot answer that question nor can any attorney that you see. The only person that can truly answer these questions is a doctor who is trained in the evaluation and detection of both the obvious injuries and the more subtle injuries that can occur in motor vehicle accidents.

So which kind of doctor? This may depend on where you live and what is available in your area but typically it should be someone who has the following qualifications and services:

1) Experience: The doctor should be familiar with trauma cases and how to treat them as well as be able to articulate the process of recovery so the patient understands their treatment. Look for doctors who have received additional training in this area and who have treated these types of cases for some time. Chiropractors are commonly used for the types of trauma that relate to the neck and back injuries sustained in a car accident but other doctors may be necessary to achieve full healing such as neurologist, orthopedics, and pain management physicians. Look for offices that offer not only Chiropractic treatment but also maintain a Board Certified pain management physician on staff to help in the evaluation and treatment of significant injuries. Look for Accident reconstruction training and applied spinal biomechanics training in the doctors resume as well as certification to perform Impairment Ratings per the American Medical Association guidelines.

2) Services: Does the office offer the types of services that I will need? Many different types of treatment can be useful in the restoration and repair of the types of injuries seen in motor vehicle accidents. Does the office have a fully maintained pain management suite with state of the art equipment including a C-arm fluoroscope (video x-ray machine) which allows the doctors to see directly the source of the pain and allows documentation of what procedures are being done. Look for a state of art decompression table, the DRX9000C which allows doctors to treat not only injuries to the cervical spine but also the lumbar spine for herniated discs and spinal degenerative changes. A full line of physical therapy should be offered from directed exercises to Ultrasound, Electrical Muscle Stimulation and Interferential current and cold laser treatments.

3) Does the office accept these types of cases: Many doctors will not accept cases that have the possibility of litigation including car accident cases. You need to know this before waiting weeks to see a doctor just to find out that will not even accept the auto insurance and just bill your regular insurance our you personally. A good office works with all carriers in the area and also works with local and out of state attorneys if needed to make sure that you receive the treatment that you need.

4) Will the doctor work with attorneys or go to court? This can be key in many cases. In this area of Bay County we see commonly that doctors get initially involved in cases but when the case seems like it may go to court they back off of the case and leave the patient without a doctor to substantiate their injuries. This leaves the patient and the attorney in a real situation and should never be done. Ask if your condition requires that you go to court will the doctor take time out to testify on your behalf.

Picking a doctor in Panama City or anywhere in the country as you can see can be a daunting experience and most people are subjected to such much misinformation that finding the right treatment can at sometimes seem impossible but with a little time and research hopefully you will choose properly. The choice can change the direction of your life as improperly treated or neglected joint injuries commonly become permanent problems that can plague you for life but a multidisciplinary treatment program can help you to repair and heal at the greatest possible capacity and save a neck or back from lifetime of pain.

Families Find It Harder to Get Help With Medical Bills

Every government in the world has faced difficulty in providing health services to the population, even Britain and Canada which subsidizes health care are finding it harder to allocate funds with the thinning resources, aging residents and expanding population. In 2009, for instance, the British National Health Service revealed it could not shoulder the costly drugs for renal cancer, earning public ire in the process. But when you think about it, the British are still much better than in the U.S. where Americans are not getting enough help with medical bills.

With meager resources, governments have to prioritize but sadly, health is not among the priorities in the market pie. The United States still relies on the private health institutions to provide help with medical bills for working families in the form of insurance. It's amazing when you consider that it is the only remaining superpower in the world, spending about $7,000 per capita annually according to the World Health Organization and yet its health system is maybe comparable to third world countries (most of which only allocate $35 annually per person) in terms of inefficiency. How else do you explain why millions of families file for bankruptcy because of medical expenses?

As the U.S. still grapples with the financial crunch and high unemployment rates, employers scrimp on insurance subsidy, resulting to higher premium for the employees. As a result, workers have to forego insurance and just pray to high heavens they don't get sick. But as always the case when you least expect it, things happen and they find themselves on the brink of bankruptcy if they can't find help with medical bills.

Although there are charity groups or religious organizations that offer help, and while hospitals have their own financial assistance programs, the resources are just not enough to equally share among the thousands of families in need of aid. With the proposed universal health care gathering dust on the shelves of the U.S. Congress, families who couldn't find help with medical bills turn to more extreme means to get by. The options become narrower and narrower: bankruptcy, high interest loans or be buried in debt.

Now, if you are thinking of buying a property whether you found it online or through an advertisement in the papers or classified ads, it is very important that you know how much you will be spending for the property. Purchase price is just one thing to consider, and in computing for your total mortgage payments, you will need to consider other factors as well such as insurance, tax and the interest rates.

Thanks to the Internet, you no longer have to calculate your mortgage payments manually. There are many websites that offers free loan calculators for you to use. All you need to do is put in the required details and it will instantly calculate for you. However, different online loan calculators will calculate differently so it is better to consult a number of loan calculators to give you a better number on your mortgage payments.

So what are the variables to be considered in calculating for your mortgage payment? First is your principal, which is the total amount you are planning to borrow from the lender. The next variable is the interest rate at which you will pay your monthly mortgage. Your interest rate will depend on what you and lender have agreed upon. Interest rates are a big factor in your monthly payments so make sure you pay them on time.

Another variable is the tax rate of the property. Taxes are to be paid yearly but you will still need to add this to your calculation. And last is the insurance you will need to pay. Some home loans will ask that you pay insurance during the whole duration of your loan so you will really need to add this to your monthly mortgage calculation.

The best thing about using a home loan calculator is that it can give you the amount of your monthly mortgage payments, yearly payments and how much you will be paying for the whole loan including the interest rate, tax and insurance fees. This will be very helpful in showing you if you can afford the house or not. Home loan calculators are available and accessible anytime so it is best that you consult it every time you make calculations. Since you have your own record, you can compare your monthly billing from your own calculation and make corrections if there is a mistake. Now that you know how loans are calculated, you will have more control over your finances.

How to Reclaim Bank Charges and PPI Claims

If you have had a loan or credit card payment in the past six years or more, you may have the right for claiming PPI recompense. Consumers often did not know they were paying extra for an insurance that would not likely cover their situation in the first place. PPI stands for Payment Protection Insurance. It actually has a legitimate purpose. That insurance is there in case the debtor cannot make their payments due to specific circumstances such as job loss or extended illness. The problem came in the type of policies sold as well as the sales tactics involved.

Many people do not even know if they pay for PPI or not. That is one of the big problems in this scandal. They went to the bank or other lender and wanted to take out a loan for say, £5000 for five years. The lender comes back and says your interest rate will be 7% and your payments are £125 a month. Unless you are a financial genius, you likely think the amount of £125 a month sounds reasonable for the loan amount and period. However, what they did not tell you was the £125 a month figure included £25 in PPI. Only £100 of that monthly amount went to paying the loan back. The rest was pure profit for the bank. Claiming PPI recompense in this case is often very simple.

Many of these PPI policies have so many restrictions that the average consumer would have trouble making a claim against it. If the person was unemployed at the time they took out the loan, PPI coverage for unemployment is automatically worthless. If the person was self-employed, most PPI will not cover if their business fails and they are not eligible for unemployment cover. People with existing medical problems usually have no PPI claim for any medical condition they have had in the past. Claiming PPI in these cases is straightforward.

How do you make these claims for PPI policies? You have a few options. You can make the claim yourself by contacting the lender directly. Nevertheless, many lenders refuse the claims without reviewing the circumstances. It is as if they want you to go away quickly and quietly without claiming PPI recompense. However, you can use a professional service to make a claim as well. Moreover, they know how to get lenders to pay attention to your claim.

If a disease or circumstance arises that's out of the GP's expertise, a specialist may need to be called in. Some examples of times to call a specialist include having a specific serious illness such as cancer. Cancer can be lethal without expert treatment. An oncologist and radiologist need to be on the treatment team in order to nip this serious disease in the bud. If a couple has been trying to conceive a baby for years with no luck, they may need to seek the services of an infertility specialist. Without this highly refined practitioner, a baby may never arrive in their lives. When the newborn does show up, an OBGYN will need to be called in.

- Change of healthcare coverage: Insurance plans change all the time. Employers switch providers or individuals select different plans. When this happens, it's important to have a medical practitioner that accepts this new insurance. On sites that list reviews, logistical information such as insurance acceptance policies are specified, as well.

- Moved to a new location: When a person moves to a new town, city or state, they will need to look for a new doctor. Since they may not know many people in town, they will most likely need to turn to the internet to discover prospective docs that they can sign up with.

- Is the doctor highly skilled? Physician reviews posted online list practical details such as where they practice, what days, hours and types of ins. These sites also have posts of past patients describing experiences regarding bedside manner, skill level and expertise.

Tax Calculator

I often find myself searching the internet for a tool to help me estimate the cost of employing a new employee. For instance if I decided to pay my future employee a net rate of £7.00 per hour, what would this gross up to once P.A.Y.E. and employees national insurance were added. In addition, what would the total cost to me be once employers national insurance was included. The secret to success was to find a user friendly tax calculator that would give me all the information that I required. An alternative was to create my own tax calculator using excel. If you can create formulae using IF statements then all you require is the following information to piece things together.

First of all, lets us consider P.A.Y.E. The first £6475 is tax free, the next £37400 is usually taxed at 20% with the remaining income up to £150,000 taxed at 40%. Above this, the rate of income tax is 50%.

Employees national insurance is similar with income of £5715 being tax free, the upper earnings limit of £43875 defines the upper limit of the 11% band, with income above this being taxed at 1%.

Employers national insurance is more straight forward, with £5715 being tax free and income above this being taxed at 12.8%.

Now that you know what to do, you just need to create the appropriate formulae using a spreadsheet. It is important to then test your data for accuracy, just to make sure that you've got the formulae right. After that, save the file for future use.

Home Emergency Cover - What A Shower!

That may sound like something you may say about your local council or your bank, however, what we are talking about here is a feature of most modern houses these days that is often overlooked until it stops working. That is when the sudden realisation occurs, that you are unable to wash properly! This is not a nice proposition, especially given that most people are very conscious of their appearance and personal hygiene. So, if it is thatimportant, why wouldn't you make sure that it is adequately protected against failure by taking out some home emergency cover?

Some of the more basic types of cover can cost as little as £0.10 a day! Now just take a minute or two to just think about that. What could you buy today for £0.10? Not even a newspaper or a stamp! When you consider value for money, this has to be one of the biggest `no-brainers` around and you do not have to leave it at that, what about adding some extra protection for a few pence more?

My eldest daughter finally took the plunge when she was about 21, to get her own flat. Whilst I was glad that she was finally taking the first steps to independence, my paternal instincts were in overdrive. I became an interfering parent to the point where I was almost banned for the flat by her. All she really wanted from me was to help her move her belongings from my house to her flat. After much thought, I finally succumbed and we made the various journeys back and forth to her flat with her belongings.

It was on one of those journeys that I ventured to ask whether she had decided about what kind of insurance she was going to take out to cover the flat and her stuff. I was very quickly put in my place and she made it quite clear that she was in total control of all that kind of thing, so would I kindly just stick to moving the stuff to her flat and leave it at that.

If you have ever had a premonition actually happen, it can be quite spooky at the time. Well I had one of those moments the minute that the phone went and I checked the caller display to see that it was a call from my errant daughter. It seemed that her shower was playing up, so would I please just go round and take a look at it. Why don't you just call out a plumber I ventured? Because she had not yet got around to sorting it out, was the answer.

When I got there, I immediately realised that the shower was `kaput`! It also looked like something in which Antiques Roadshow might be interested! I called a friend of mine who was a plumber and he agreed to call round as a favour to me. The shower needed replacing by a new unit and it would be costly. It was not the right time to say "I told you so", but after about the 10th visit to use my bath by my daughter I made my feelings known.

She did eventually get the shower fixed and I was pleasantly surprised, when a few days later, the front door bell rang and in she marched with a large envelope in her hand. Upon opening it I found a brand new shiny home emergency policy document, but not just a basic cover, a fully comprehensive cover.

My other two kids have since left and got their own homes and lo and behold, they were badgered into taking out home emergency cover by my eldest daughter!
