Financial assistance programs are available for low income individuals in need of dental care. The requirements for these programs range from having to participate in oral hygiene classes to provide proof of need for financial assistance. Other programs require proof of participation in government funded programs such as Medicare or Medicaid. Other programs are intended to help a specific group of people. Regardless of the program you choose to apply for, make sure you are ready to submit a lot of proof detailing your financial status in order to receive the assistance you are seeking.

Certain programs only seek to help those who fall into a certain category. Some of these include children, the elderly, patients who have a positive HIV status, domestic abuse victims, homeless, those who are currently on unemployment, and those are currently working but are still not capable of paying for the costs of dental insurance.
